Clinton Presidential Center
About the Center:
The William J. Clinton Presidential Center includes America’s newest Presidential Library housing the largest archival collection in American presidential history. Located on the banks of the Arkansas River in the heart of Little Rock’s River Market District, the Clinton Library provides an exciting and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
Featuring 20,000 square feet of exhibit space, the Clinton Library chronicles American history at the turn of the 21st century. Interactive exhibits, including a White House Cabinet Room reconstruction and a full-scale replica of the Oval Office, give visitors a first-hand look into the life and work of the 42nd president. Other featured exhibits include 13 policy alcoves and an interactive 110-foot timeline within which the history of the Clinton Administration unfolds. Another section of the museum is designed to present exhibits about life in the White House: showing the splendor of state events, the spirit of holiday celebrations and how the Clintons made the White House their home. Also included is a gallery designed to rotate exciting new exhibits through the Library on a regular basis.
The Center plays host to a number of free festivals, musical performances and special events throughout the year, providing entertainment the whole family can enjoy! It also offers several free admission days each year to commemorate President Clinton’s birthday, the Fourth of July, and other special occasions.
Basically a museum in honor of Bill Clinton. It was a truly fascinating and interesting visit. They even had the president's Limousine on display there. All sorts of things to look at and admire. The souvenirs and gifts he received from other countries, a short movie about Bill Clinton's history and how he became a president. Truly a fascinating experience. p.s. Part of this 'museum' is used for other displays, when I was there, the GIANT BUGS were on display and that was quite cool too. I've heard that sometimes they have art displays there and some other things so a little extra.
I haven't been to multiple presidential libraries so I can't compare this one to others. With that being said, I thought the library was clean, interesting, and a fun sight-seeing opportunity while in Little Rock. The layout was a little awkward, and the subject matter wasn't the most interesting, but I got what I signed up for, right? I mean, its a Clinton library. It has a nice view of the river and an add-on exhibit of animatronic bugs, that were quite honestly creepy and out of place there. I also didn't like the fact that you had to pay to get a picture sitting in the oval office. I'm not paying an extra 30 bucks for that.
I highly recommend taking the guided tour. In fact, i recommend you take it TWICE in the same day. The guides have lots of anecdotes that add context and historical connections to the massive displays.
Very cool building. leap Platinum certified. lots of history. great experience regardless of your political feelings
Fabulous, well done, informative. Beautiful facility. Can spend hours there.
